Com2 has voluntarily sought and accomplished federal and state certifications and permits required to ensure safe and environmentally proper recycling of surplus electronics.
Choosing the correct Asset Disposal Vendor can be a challenging and scary task. Questions arise like “Will all the data be cleansed properly? How will the items be handled?” Com2 has the knowledge and the ability to customize the process to make sure the correct solution is found for each unique situation.

Com2 is committed to preventing pollution, protecting biodiversity and ecosystems, and health and safety through responsible recycling. Com2 is committed to managing used and end-of-life electronic equipment based on a reuse, refurbishment, recovery, and disposal hierarchy that includes onsite management throughout the recycling chain, while protecting client data.
Com2 assures all data is destroyed by following the guidelines recommended by: HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act), NAID (National Association for Information Destruction), SERI R2 (Responsible Recycling), NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology), and DOD (Department of Defense). Certificates of Recycling and chain of custody documentation are available. In addition, COM2 provides an audit report showing that all hard drives have gone through the process upon request.
COM2’s data shredder destroys old hard drives in such a way that the data they contain cannot be recovered. Hard drives coming out of outdated equipment cannot be reformatted for reuse and will be shredded. Clients receive an email with a “Certificate of Recycling.” Com2 is a SERI R2 certified company for all materials that may be sensitive, toxic, or pose risks or hazards.
When electronics arrive at the COM2 warehouse, they go through a first stage of triage, or discovery, to determine if they can be remarketed or should be recycled. Any equipment deemed salvageable will be audited by COM2 technicians and prepared for remarketing. COM2 offers two programs to its clients regarding marketable assets: straight buyout or profit sharing.
Upon request, COM2 provides each client with a User ID and password to track their database, allowing them to view various reports, including inventory received, scheduling, audit reports, data destruction, and other metrics.
COM2 presents each client with an appropriate solution that fits their objective and frees them up from the concerns of asset disposal, helps them turn an obligation into an opportunity, while eliminating risks associated with disposal of assets.
