Upcoming Webinar Explores Illinois Large Event Facilities Act
The Illinois Recycling Foundation, in partnership with the Illinois Food Scrap & Composting Coalition and Chicago Sustainability Task Force, has announced a free webinar scheduled for April 10 from 1:30 to 3:00 PM. The session will focus on the recently implemented Illinois Large Event Facilities Act.
Effective as of January 1, the new legislation mandates that public event facilities with a capacity exceeding 3,500 must implement recycling and composting programs. The webinar will offer a detailed overview of the law’s requirements and its anticipated impact on waste reduction practices across the state.
Panel discussions will feature insights from industry experts representing organizations such as Live Nation, The Urban Canopy, and the Cook County Department of Environment & Sustainability. These experts will share best practices, innovative solutions, and strategies to help large facilities meet the new regulations while boosting sustainability efforts.
The event is designed for a diverse audience, including municipalities, event facility managers, food service operators, and other key stakeholders in environmental sustainability. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions, engage with the panelists, and gain practical insights that can be applied to their respective fields.
In addition to the in-depth discussions, the webinar will also highlight real-world examples of successful recycling and composting programs implemented at large facilities. This practical approach aims to provide participants with tangible strategies to enhance their environmental initiatives.
